Contact Lenses versus glasses

The benefits of wearing contact lenses are infinite. The list below compares the advantage of wearing contact lenses with eyeglasses.

  1. When wearing eyeglasses, the distance between the eye and the lens can often cause distortion. Since the lenses are worn right on the eye, the vision is more natural.
  2. The peripheral vision with glasses is poor and restrictive. With lenses, the entire field of view is in focus.
  3. With glasses, you are continuously aware of the frame as well as the reflections off the back of the lens. The frame also creates an uncomfortable weight on the face. In lenses there are no obstructions of any sort.
  4. Glasses can be a hindrance while playing a sport. No distraction with lenses and are thus preferred by athletes.
  5. With eye glasses, one is restricted in the use of fancy sunglasses. With contact lenses you can wear any pair of sunglasses without a problem.
  6. Glasses will need to match your outfit, in terms of frame size colour and design. Contacts match everything you wear.
  7. Eyeglasses are a problem to wear in the rain or snow. On the other hand, contact lenses won’t collect precipitation nor will it blur your vision.
  8. Glasses are a distracting barrier while contacts allow a clear vision of your eyes.
